How to Choose the Best Cable Television Service for Quality Entertainment

Let’s admit it, we’re a nation of TV addicts. Pretty much every one of us watches TV every day – and with the improved quality of transmission, plus the extraordinary number of channels we can receive, the choice of cable TV or satellite TV service we make is crucial.

When you’re choosing satellite TV providers the first thing you need to be concerned with is budget. There’s no point in buying the best, most expensive package (you can pay a couple of hundred pounds or dollars for a top package every month) if you’re not going to be able to make the payments. So start by setting yourself a budget.

Now comes the hard part. Budget in hand, it’s time to trawl the various satellite TV providers’ offerings and see which ones make your viewing mouth water.

Be aware that some providers offer certain channels in HD, while others don’t – so in other words, you could have your favourite shows in high definition if you go with supplier a but if you choose supplier b instead you may end up having to settle for those channels in normal quality. Also, of course, there are satellite channels that are proprietary to the company supplying you with the signal – so think about whether proprietary programming from a given satellite TV provider is something you can’t do without.

The type of subscription that you select dictates the type of satellite decoder you receive – and you can also find some pretty good deals for viewing equipment as well. If you’re looking to drag your viewing experience into the future, then shopping around to see if you can get cut prices on new TV sets at the same time as hooking your home up to your new satellite service can be a very good idea.

It’s not just the viewing equipment that could entice you into a more wide ranging entertainment choice, either. Plenty of satellite TV providers are now delivering full communications packages, offering you phone and internet as well.

The advantages to getting all of your communications through your satellite TV provider are twofold, based in cost and end user experience. The convenience of having a single monthly bill for everything is pretty obvious – and you’ll probably save money too, by consolidating your service provision into that one payment. If your three communications services come from three different suppliers, you end up paying the hidden charges (the extra cost in each bill that goes towards general maintenance of that company’s transmission equipment, for example) three times over.

The second advantage is all about convenience. The three services – TV, phone and internet – are all delivered using identical technology. Which means, when you have all three coming to you from the same satellite TV provider, that the ways in which you consume that technology change. A triple play package gets your TV talking to your phone and your internet talking to both of them.

So if you fancy enjoying not just satellite TV stations, but all your streamed online content on a new HDTV, then shopping for the right satellite TV package is crucial. Make sure you take the time to compare packages before signing yourself in to one.

There's also a 65-inch version on the way in 2012 with a pricetag of $2,099 and Vizio's displays bring a rather complete line of features without an ultra-high price tag, but there'd be more reasons to share the included four pairs of 3D glasses with friends if the NBA season would just ever start.

Infinite Black 2
In new VIERA models, contrast in brightly lit locations has been significantly improved. Enhancements to the panel and cells help reproduce images with smooth, natural gradation and deep, rich blacks even when viewed in bright surroundings. In movies, the true, deep blacks faithfully convey the intent of the filmmakers, adding power and realism to the viewing experience.
Full-time 1080 Moving Picture Resolution
VIERA plasma TVs have 1,080 lines of moving-picture resolution. Newly developed phosphors with minimal afterimages and a new motion compensating technology have made it possible to render faster-moving images with greater sharpness. This far surpasses the APDC moving-picture resolution measurement standard of 5 seconds by providing a moving-picture resolution of 1,080 lines at the 1.5-second level. And it shows the inherently clear motion of VIERA TVs in both 2D and 3D images.
3D 24p Cinema Smoother
VIERA incorporates technology that analyzes picture information in both the preceding and succeeding frames, and creates a precise supplementary frame between them. This suppresses the jerky effect seen in movies so playback is smooth and natural-looking. The distinctive tonal qualities and atmosphere of the movie are preserved and you enjoy extremely lifelike 3D images.
Full 3D
600Hz
Frame Sequential Technology
Panasonic uses Full-HD Frame Sequential technology to create its 3D images. Images recorded in 1920 x 1080 pixels for both the right-eye and the left-eye alternately flash on the screen at the ultra-high rate of 120 frames per second. When you view the screen through active-shutter glasses that open and close each lens in sync with the alternating images, you see breathtaking FULL HD 3D pictures with stunning power and realism.
Dynamic Contast
By combining the highly light-transmissive IPS Alpha Panel and high-brightness backlight, Panasonic has attained both high contrast and low power consumption. Also, by detecting the contrasting parts of the scene, the backlight is adjusted to maintain a brightness that is optimal for each area. Deep blacks are reproduced with no fading. The contrast between the brilliance of diamond-like stars and the deep black of the night sky produces a sharp, crisp image.
600Hz Sub-field Drive
600Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into dots. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects.
3D Image Viewer
It's easy to view 3D photos and movies you shot yourself on the big VIERA screen. After shooting with your 3D-compatible camera or camcorder, simply insert the SD card into the slot on a 3D-compatible VIERA TV. The viewing is incredible, with images so realistic it feels as though you're right back in the moment. You'll find that life's special moments are even more memorable when you preserve them in 3D.

3D Technology Checklist

This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:
A Display
First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
A Source
Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
3D Content
3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
3D Glasses
For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
HDMI Cable
To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

Samsung 55 Inch Glasses Free 3D Smart TV Prototype Review

Samsung has made a new 55 inch smart television in glasses-free technology.
To prove that glasses free 3DTV does not need to be shown on a tiny screen, Samsung’s new prototype 3DTV comes on a massive 55 inch screen and is completely glasses free. Currently for the glasses free 3D to be effective, it needs to be shown on a small screen such as the Nintendo 3ds.
A 55-inch 3D LCD TV viewable without special glasses at FPD China 2011. The new 3D LCD TV reportedly had a functional switch between 2D and 3D modes. The TV is equipped with an LCD panel whose optical refraction index can be changed in front of an LCD panel used for displaying images. Samsung believes this prototype will be commercially available in about three years.
Autostereoscopic technology allows the viewer to view 3D images without the need of special eyewear. Toshiba and other companies are developing similar technology, banking on commercial and consumer calls for glasses-free viewing of 3D images.
Make sure when checking out any TV, from LCD TVs to 3D TVs that you check the best available resources.
Samsung 55inch Glasses Free 3DTV Supports 9 Viewing Angles. This 55-inch display is able to accommodation nine different viewpoints for glass-free 3D viewing. The Prototype is also relying on a direct-lit CCFL backlight, although Samsung notes that would likely be replaced with an LED backlight before it actually hits the market

The only problem is that the TV may not be with us for three long years (which is exactly how long James Cameron said to wait before buying 3DTV). By that time there will probably be lots of glasses free 3DTV sets for sale.
