Day 6 of Google 10-cent app promo

Day six of the Android Market 10-cent app sale sees eight new apps and the return of two: Endomondo Sports Tracker Pro and Great Little Whiine 6: Asphalt HD.

Returning apps is not a bad thing. After passing on Endomondo Sports Tracker Pro on Day 1 because I do not need it, I reconsidered my lifestyle and decided and should change it so that I do need this app. I also picked up SimCity.

Day 5 of Google 10-cent app promo

A bit late, but here are the current offerings:

Unfortunately, I could not buy Pano with my credit card on the discounted price through my phone Market App (it gives me the message that my card is not valid for payment for this transaction) though I have bought others at the 10-cent price. I decided to try from the desktop and was able to buy Pano! I wish I new this two days ago :(

I did not buy anything in Day 3 and wondering when they give Flight Track is offered for 10-cents (it is in the banner after all). I will leave you to ponder what to buy as I do the same.

Third day of Google 10 cent app promo

We are now in the third day of Google's 10-cent app promo in celebration of reaching the 10-billion download milestone on the Android Market. I picked up three of the first 20 apps on promo: Sketchbook Mobile, Soundhound and Read It Later Pro. For some reason I could not buy Paper Camera and Sky Chart while they were on discount with my credit card. I guess it has something to do with minimum authorized purchase prices across some jurisdictions.

I noticed the new apps for the day start showing up at about 12-noon UTC. The apps of the previous day continue to be on discount for a few hours after the new ones show up, so as many as 20-apps are on discount.

Anyway, here is the list of apps for today.

10-cent (Php4.33) App promo at the Android Market - Day 2

Looking at the Android Market on its second day of it 10-cent app promo we noticed the following apps are being offered at the discounted price:

I decided to buy Read It Later Pro.

The ten apps offered yesterday at 10 cents are still being offered at the discounted prices as of this writing.

This promotion is part of Google celebration for the having reached the milestone of one billion downloads from the Android Market.

10-cent (Php4.33) App promo at the Android Market

It looks like Christmas has come early to the Android Market. Several apps are now being offered at a discounted price of 10 cents, or Php4.33. Apparently, this is in celebration of the Android Market having hit 10 billion downloads.

Here are a list discounted titles found:

GiGaOM posted that this promo will last for ten days, and expects new apps on discount everyday for the next ten days.

Swiftkey is my keyboard of choice on Android. If you are still using the stock keyboard, it is a must have, and at Php4.33, a no braniner. I promptly upgraded my free versions of SketchBook Mobile and Sound Hound to the paid versions. Unfortunately, for some reason, my credit card is not valid for a purchase of paper camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note Pre-order Promo: Lightning strikes twice

Remember the Samsung Galaxy S II pre-order promo a few months back. The device was offered as a pre-order discount, with a free case, for a limited period. After the pre-order period the Samsung Galaxy S II immediately appeared on the store shelves at a below the suggested retail price which basically made only free case as th advantage for getting one on pre-order.

Well, it has happened again, this time with the Samsung Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note has a suggested retail price of Php35,990, and was offered on a pre-order promo at a discounted price of Php33,990, plus a free flip case an a one months subscription to the Philippine Daily Inquirer Digital Edition valued at Php1,120.

Yesterday, the Galaxy Note showed up at CMK Cellphones at a price of Php31,000 with an official warranty from Samsung Philippines. Basically, from CMK you get the Galaxy Note at Php4,990 less than the suggested retail price, and and Php2,990 less than the pre-order price.

So is the free flip case an a one months subscription to the Philippine Daily Inquirer Digital Edition worth Php2,990?

Samsung better get their pre-order promotion in order. This is getting tiring.

Samsung Galaxy Note on pre-order now

Samsung Galaxy Note is available for pre-order starting today. The Samsung Galaxy Note is a 5.29-inch device, which you could look at as the largest smartphone in the planet or as a small tablet.

Whichever way you look at it, it is the most technologically advanced mobile device to this Philippine shores. The Samsung Galaxy Note has a full 720p (800 x 1280) screen. Inside is a dual-core 1.4GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with Mali-400MP graphics which makes it a bit faster the current speed king, the Samsung Galaxy S II, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 2500 mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy Note also comes with a sytlus.

The price for all this goodness is a pretty steep Php35,990. If you pre-order the device you can avail of a P2,000 discount, get a free flip case as well as a 45-day subscription to Philippine Daily Inquirer Digital Edition valued at P1,120.

The better way to get the Note is to pre-order one and select the option to avail it under Smart Communications Data Plan 2000. Smart will waive the first month fee and you still get a a free flip case. This means you pay Php46,000 over two years, get unlimited data (subject to some restrictions), and 150 minutes of calls and 200 SMS to all networks per month. This is a much better deal than buying one for cash.

LG is offering its slim 4-inch Android phone, the LG Optimus Black, on a promotional price of Php15,990 which is a discount of Php2,000 from its current market price. The promotion runs until December 18, 2011.

The promo mechanics are a bit more complicated than I would have liked. To avail of the promotion you have to buy it online through LG's website and payment must be made through a credit card or paypal account. The phone will be delivered to your address. LG Optimus One P500 @ Php7,990

The LG Optimus One, our favorite entry level smartphone has done it again. Whenever it is threatened by newer products, it adjust its price and keeps its crown.

This time, the suggested retail price is down to Php8,990, and until October 2, 2011, an additional 1K discount is being given. Php7,990 for a tried and tested phone running Android 2.3 with a 3.2-inch 320 x 480 screen, decent performance. It is a steal.

LG also has promo's on its new LG Optimus 3D and Optimus Me. The promo is available from LG Concept Stores and kiosks.

HTC Mozart 7 @ Php14,750

CMK Cellphones is offering the HTC Mozart 7 at Php14,750 with a one year warranty from HTC. This is a really good price for a phone 1GHz processor, a 480 x 800 screen and 8GB of internal storage.

If you have been curious about Windows Phone 7, this is probably a good time to grab one. The HTC Mozart 7 will be getting an update to Windows Phone 7.5 "Mango".

I have to stop blogging this now and see if I can convince my wife to let me get one before supplies run out.

Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 available for pre-order in the Philippines

You can pre-order a Samsung Galaxy S WiFi, a 5-inch Android 2.2 powered tablet 10.1 now at this site: It's Time to Tab. The retail price is Php12,990, and if you reserve now, you can get it a set of a free Urbanears headset.

The promo mechanics are as follows:

All Philippine local residents may reserve a Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 through the Samsung online reservation site from August 17 to 20, 2011.

Online reservation is open to all Philippine local residents only, note however that claiming may only be done in Metro Manila on the stated venue and on the specified claiming period.

Interested parties are entitled to reserve one (1) of 400 units of Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 in Metro Manila at the price of Php12,990 a promo offer of a free Urbanears headset.
