January 2012 high end smartphone buyers guide

Where do we start? Lets start at the most expensive.

Apple iPhone 4S. The Apple iPhone 4S is the most expensive smartphone in the country, but good postpaid options make acquisition relatively painless. Given its high price, it specifications are fairly modest with a 3.5-inch (640 x 960 resolution), 512 MB of RAM, a 800 MHz dual core A5 processor, HSDPA 14.4 Mbps connectivity, an excellent 8 MP camera and a VGA secondary camera. The camera can take pictures with almost zero shutter lag. Just 0.5 seconds between shots. Internal storage starts at 16 GB with 32 GB and 64 GB models available.  These modest specifications are enough to run iOS 5 fast.

iOS 5 is also a much improve operating system, integrating cloud services, Android like notifications and widgets (only two at present) and the SIRI virtual assistant.
Ultimately, whether you like this phone or not depends on how you feel about the 3.5-inch screen. If you prefer this size of phone, it really has no direct competition, Android phone with more or less this screen size being mid-level offerings. The Apple iPhone 4S is the best mid sized smartphone.

Cash price: Php33,200 (Smart)/Php37,690 (Globe) for the 16GB model

Free: At Plan 2499

Recommended plan:

- Smart at Data Plan 2000 with Php2,500 cash out (this plan comes with unlimited data. Smart Plan 2499 is capped at 1 GB).
- Globe Data Plan 1799 with Php4,800 cash out. If you can spend more, it make more sense to add on services like unlimited calls and SMS within the Globe Network rather than avail of Plan 2,499.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus.  The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is Google current generation reference phone. This phone features two new things, the new Android 4.0 operating system and a large 4.65 inch Super AMOLED HD (720 x 1280) screen. The phone has a button less interface.

The specifications seem impressive enough with 1 GB of RAM, a dual core 1.2 GHz A9 processor on a TI OMAP 4460 chipset, HSDPA+ 21.1 Mbps connectivity, an excellent 5 MP camera and a 1.3 MP secondary camera (which can do 720 p video recording). The 5 MP camera feautres zero shutter lag and single motion panorama shots. Internal storage starts at 16 GB with a 32 GB model available (but not in the Philippines).

As impressive as this may sound, dual core 1.2 GHz A9 processor on a TI OMAP 4460 chipset is not a fast as the Exynos based system on the seven month old Samsung Galaxy S II.The Galaxy S II has a better 8 MP primary camera and a also comes with a 2 MP secondary camera. For storage, the Galaxy S II has 16 GB of internal storage expandable via MicroSD card.

In other words, it is not a Galaxy S II killer. The main reason to get this phone is the 4.65-inch screen. In a way also, this is a limiting factor. While the phone is only 8.9 mm thick, it is still 67.9 mm wide so it may not be ideal for persons with smaller hands.

Samsung Galaxy Note. If you are looking for the phone with killer specifications, it is the Samsung Galaxy Note. This phone has a large 5.3-inch Super AMOLED HD (800 x 1280) screen.

This Android phone runs on 1 GB of RAM, a dual core 1.4 GHz A9 processor on a Exynos chipset, HSDPA+ 21.1 Mbps connectivity, an excellent 8 MP camera and a 2 MP secondary camera Internal storage starts at 16 GB with a 32 GB model available (but not in the Philippines), which is expandable via a MicroSD card. It also comes with a stylus which brings added functionality. Right now it runs on Android 2.3.5, but an Android 4.0 update is guaranteed.
It is a monster phone with monster specifications. It really depends on you want a large almost tablet like device. If you do, this one is probably the best choice.
Cash price: As low as Php31,500 open line with a 1 year official warranty

Free: Free at Smart Data Plan 2000

Samsung Galaxy S II. This seven month old phone is still a great choice. It has a large 4.3-inch Super AMOLED HD (480 x 800) display.

This Android phone runs on 1 GB of RAM, a dual core 1.2 GHz A9 processor on a Exynos chipset, HSDPA+ 21.1 Mbps connectivity, an excellent 8 MP camera and a 2 MP secondary camera Internal storage starts at 16 GB with a 32 GB model available (but not in the Philippines), which is expandable via a MicroSD card. Right now it runs on Android 2.3.5, but an Android 4.0 update is guaranteed. Except for the screen size and resolution, and the operating system, this phone has better specifications than the Galaxy Nexus.

This is also a large phone, but it is a bit slimmer (8.5 mm) and bit narrower (66.1 mm) than the Galaxy Nexus.

Cash price: As low as Php25,950 open line with a 1 year official warranty

BlackBerry Torch 9860. We only recommend this phone if you are a using BlackBerry services and are looking for something to tide you over until the next generation of BlackBerry phones.

Like the other new BlackBerry phones it comes with O.S. version 7.0, a 1.2GHz processor and 5MP camara. The Torch 9860 actually comes with less internal memory at 4GB compared to the new 9810 Torch and 9790 Bold which had 8GB. It is not that big a deal since storage is expandable via MicroSD card.

We selected this among the new BlackBerry's because it has the largest screen with the highest resolution among the new BlackBerry's at 3.7-inches with a 480 x 800 resolution. This makes is the best choice for a variety of uses like web browsing, document viewing, navigation and the like. You do loose the QWERTY keyboard.

If you want a BlackBerry with a QWERTY keyboard, you might as well hold on to what you have and wait a few month for the BB 10 phones. If you are not a BlackBerry user, now does not seem to be the time to make a switch to this platform.

Cash price: As low as Php24,900 open line with a 1 year official warranty

Other phones. There are a bunch of other high end phones in the market, like HTC Sensation series (basic, XE and XL), the LG Optimus 2X, 3D smartphones like HTC EVO 3D and LG 3D P920, BlackBerry's new Model 9810 Torch and 9790 Bold and Nokia's MeeGo powered N9. We did not forget this phones. The five above are the best choices in the market today.

How to update div on 1st page by jquery code on 2nd page?

I planned to post my question to stackoverflow.com to ask some experts from there. But when I was typing my question in very detail on stackoverflow.com, then only I realize my code "hideposting();" show on 2nd page and it works to hide the posting from 1st page although the code is on 2nd page, so I stated think "why???" and I suddenly realize 1st page call the code from 2nd page, so the code on 2nd page is still on 1st page, that's why the code on 2nd page is working on 1st page!

Sometime we just need to think deeply and go for very detail then we will realize our problem is not a problem actually.

Anyway, since I types so many words for my question on stackoverflow.com, but I cannot click "submit" button because it is not a question for me anymore since I got the answer already, I feel it is wasted if I delete my question from stackoverflow.com, so I print screen and save the picture here :

I have tried many solutions from this discussion but only 1 of them is working for me. Here is the codes :

Motorola Charm Android

Motorola tried to be innovative with the BackFlip and FlipOut in the past. And now with its latest Android phone, the Charm, the company has chosen to go the way of BlackBerry looks. The Charm comes across as a great combination of a touchscreen and a QWERTY keypad. Irrespective of the smooth physical keyboard, one can easily type the on-screen keypad. Running the Android v2.1, the device comes with a customisable user interface MotoBlur that divides the homescreen into multiple panes. Configuring a Gmail account simply requires the user name and the password but for Outlook accounts manual settings would be needed. QuickOffice viewer, mySpace, Facebook, are few apps that the handset comes pre-installed with. A high resolution screen (above 320 x 240) would have made the phone ideal for multimedia viewing.

Tech Specs:
2.8-inch capacitive touch display;

3.15 MP camera;

EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi;

512 MB RAM, expandable up to 32GB;

Samsung Wave 533

Wave 533 a physical keyboard QWERTY  hides behind the capacitive display. The well-spaced rectangular keys are done in white and yellow and they look a bit odd.

The 3.2 capacitive touchscreen has the lowly 240x400 pixels of resolution, which makes everything on the display look jagged. The viewing angles are decent, though, and it has average sunlight visibility on full brightness.

The back is flat, with a 3MP camera centered in its upper part, and the speaker grill down right. The usual piano black plastic Samsung is using in most of its handsets of late, is replaced for a battery cover with dotted pattern, which makes the phone easier to grip and hold. For connectivity it has Wi-Fi which makes accessing web browser and other social networking sites a breeze.

Product Highlights
-Helps reduce dark under-eye circles
-Helps reduce under-eye puffiness
-Helps reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in noticeably younger looking eyes.

Product Details :
Many people think under eye bags and circles are caused by being tired, but dermatologists and plastic surgeons agree that this is caused by capillaries that leak blood close the skin's surface resulting in the dark and bluish color.

Finally, researchers have developed a product to combine a scientifically advanced proven compound to reduce those dark under-eye circles and puffiness and simultaneously reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in noticeably younger looking eyes: Revitol Eye Cream.

Revitol Eye Cream was created by one of America's premier anti-aging skin care companies. They have succeeded at creating a powerful intensive eye cream that effectively combats not one but THREE of the most aggravating beauty problems...under eye dark circles, puffiness and wrinkles.

Revitol's moisturizing emollients and natural ingredients help counter moisture loss and other characteristics of under-eye circles. Our soft, non-greasy formula absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling smooth and supple along with many other benefits.

Surgery Can't Fix Dark Circles and Puffy Eyes!
Finally, researchers have developed a product to combine a scientifically advanced proven compound to reduce those dark under-eye circles and puffiness and simultaneously reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in noticeably younger looking eyes.

-Story by Carla Aziza
I can't tell you how often I'm told that I look tired because of the dark circles under my eyes. I guess some people don't realize how embarrassing this is. I have been plagued with dark circles and puffiness since my early 20s! But finally I don't have to worry about them anymore since I found Revitol Eye Treatment.

Why Dark Circles and Puffiness Form in the First Place :
Despite what most people think, deep, dark circles and bags under your eyes are not primarily caused by being tired or stressed. Instead, dermatologists and plastic surgeons agree that this is caused by capillaries that leak blood close the skin's surface. When this blood begins to oxidize, it turns a bluish red color, similar to an ugly bruise. And since the skin under the eyes is very thin, this leads to the appearance of the embarrassing bags and dark circles. The more transparent your skin and the more blood that pools under it, the darker the circles appear. And what's worse, this discoloration over time can become permanent!

Revitol Eye Solves Three Beauty Problems at Once!
Revitol Eye was created by on of America's premier anti aging skin care companies.

Our soft, non-greasy formula absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling smooth and supple.

Ingredients :
Niacinamide - A water-soluble Vitamin B complex that helps retain skin moisture.
Bisabolol - An ingredient derived from Chamomile that soothes and calms irritated skin; reduces the appearance of puffiness.
Chrysin - A flavonoid that helps reduce the appearance of excess skin pigmentation caused by breakdown of hemoglobin.
N-Hydroxycicinimide - Reduces the appearance of a pigmentation factor and thus dark circles.
Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Silica, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Glycerides, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-75 Stearate, Ceteth-20, Steareth-20, Butylene glycol, Niacinamide, Fraxinus excelsior bark extract, Silanetriol, Potassium citrate, Propylene Glycol, Dipelargonate, Dimethicone, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Chrysin, N-Hydroxysuccinimide, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7. Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Bisabolol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Allantoin, Triethanolamine, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ascorbic Acid.

Suggested Use :
Apply a small amount under & around the eye area in a circular motion. For best results apply to clean skin twice daily.

What our Customers Are Saying :
"I have a lighter complexion and had basically 'given up' that my dark circles were something I had to live with. I have tried other, far more expensive products with disappointing results. Mobile payment for rural areas

A few banks have introduced apps which can pay without the need for plastic or cash. However, apps are not useful to the majority of Indian people who have feature phones, not smartphones. Nokia, who provide the majority of phones to India, attempts to make mobile payment accessible to more people. They have just launched a mobile payment service called Nokia Money, for feature phones.

In rural India, many people do not have a smartphone, computer, a bank account, or credit and debit cards. Nokia Money allows these people to pay bills, buy tickets, or top up their mobile phone. An advanced version also facilitates sending money to other users, paying retailers, and using the service as an ATM. All that is necessary is a Nokia phone, and to visit an authorised Nokia retailer, who can embed the service on the phone. Then they can pay cash to the agent, and get digital cash transferred to their phone via an instant SMS message.

Nokia are also trialling Nokia Money on NFC (Near Field Communication) devices. In this instance, the Nokia Money merchant must purchase a NFC-enabled smartphone, such as a the Nokia 701 or the Blackberry 9790, to act as the active device. The customer does not need an NFC enabled handset, but can purchase an NFC tag, and their phone will act as the passive device in the money transfer.

The service had a successful beta launch in areas such as Pune, Nashik and Chandigarh. Its continued success will depend on awareness and acceptance by rural communities. It also relies on good mobile networks, which do not proliferate throughout rural India (call drops, lack of network and unsent SMSes are common). However, the basic idea of bringing simple mobile payment to large areas currently cut off from such benefits has many benefits, and early trials such as Nokia Money are surely stepping stones towards thorough and efficient implementation.

THE BEST GPS DEVICES

MIO NAVMAN575

The Navman575 has a large screen, but no live services and no local search –an unwise omission when some

cheaper models include it.You do get free traffic alerts, safety caminfo and quick re-routing, though.
Pre-loaded European maps look mighty fine on the 4.7-inch, 480x272- pixel screen and a simple, colourful menu allows for easy navigation in every sense. The Mio learns your driving style over time and changes routes accordingly, and though it lacks the extra features of the more expensive models on test, it is a respectable budget option.

TOMTOM GO LIVE 1000
The 1000 is a polished satnav with one of the most responsive screens on test –all 4.3 inches of it.As you’d expect at this price the mapping is speedy and accurate.TomTom throws in speed camera info and its LIVE services, including HDTraffic –which offers often very accurate traffic updates, time delay estimates and alternate routes –Google Local Search and the ability to filemap corrections on the device. The first year’s LIVE services are free and cost £47.50 thereafter. TomTom’s IQ Routes has a tendency to go for the more scenic option, but this is still the best all-round satnav here.

NAVIGON 40 PREMIUM LIVE
Navigon’s live services include Google Local Search, real-time traffic updates, safety cam info and Clever Parking, which finds you a space in packed multi-storeys. You also get weather and European map updates

via a rather ugly external module. The first 15 months is free and it’s £40 a year from then.

The Premium Live is feature-packed but the user interface is tricky, with small buttons that are lost on the 4.3-inch screen and sluggish zoom controls. The GPS routing is very good however, with lane assistance making negotiating nasty junctions a breeze.

GARMIN NÜ VI 3790T

Thinner than an iPhone 4, the Nü vi 3790T is unobtrusive and easily stowed in a pocket with a bright and responsive 4.3-inch, 800x400-pixel screen. You get a lifetime of freeTMC traffic updates via an external receiver but no live services –a rather notable omission given the Nü vi’s price tag. The 3790T provides reliably accurate mapping, while the Photo-Real function displays junctions as you see them, making it easier tospot your turning. In short: stylish and capable but expensive and lacking features.

VEXIA 480

Vexia aims to save you money on your fuel bill. Select your vehicle from the 11,000 that Vexia recognises and the 480 will track how efficient your driving is –whether you brake too much or pull too many doughnuts. It’s a worthy aim, but the 4.3-inch, 480x372- pixel screen lacks clarity and maps are sometimes difficult to follow due to all the helpful ecothemed hints cluttering the display. There are no traffic jam-busting features or Bluetooth either. If you drive long distances regularly, the Econav could save you money, but is it worth it?
