The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc is set to be the phone that will be changing the fortunes of Sony Ericsson, which has not been so successful with its other high end smartphone models lately. Part of the reason has been attributed to the lack of good screen phones from Sony Ericsson in a time when touch screen phones have ruled the roost in the market. The touch screen phones that Sony Ericsson have occasionally launched did not have great features to be appealing to a lot of people. However, the story changes entirely when you fast forward to the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc. This is the latest phone that incorporates almost all technologies that Sony is known for over the years.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc does not have a totally different style from the Sony Ericsson Xperia range of phones and this is a good thing because if Sony Ericsson is known for something, then it is styling more than anything else. The highlight of the phone is the 8.7 mm thickness that it is having. It makes it one of the thinnest phones available in the market today. More than it, the presence of a 4.2 inch touch screen display makes for astonishing reading. This touch screen display employs the Bravia technology that has been synonymous with extremely high quality display in Sony's LCD range. Sony Ericsson has adopted a number of steps in order to protect the display and usage of a scratch resistant surface is just one of it.
The phone will be having the Timescape user interface for better understanding of the Android operating system. The previous Sony Ericsson Xperia models came with the Android 1.6 operating systems. Predictably, they were massive failures as other manufacturers came up with the latest version of Android. Sony Ericsson does not seem to have made the same mistake twice after it has included the Android 2.2 operating system in the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc. Even though it has been recently replaced by the 2.3 version, it is still good enough to be considered as a proper operating system for this high-end phone. The news gets better when you know that Sony Ericsson is providing update to the Android once you get your hands on the phone. Buyers can upgrade to the 2.3 version as soon as they get their phones.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc comes with the legendary Cybershot quality in its camera and it is an eight megapixel one. This camera comes with plenty of other options to make the photography a joy more than anything else. The phone uses a 1 GHz processor. It also employs the help of a separate graphics card to have better performance when it comes to playing HD games on the phone. The phone has just been launched by the company amidst plenty of other phones from manufacturers. However, it is one phone that has got to the attention of most. It will probably remain the same if Sony Ericsson manages to price it aggressively in the UK.
